Dear Young Artist,

Please know this: the world needs you—now more than ever. So believe in yourself.

Artists have always been among the deepest agents of change in moments of fracture. Across history, it has been artists who have reimagined reality when the world seemed unrecognizable. You are living through an era marked by relentless global turmoil: armed conflicts, forced displacement, environmental collapse, societal regressions, rising authoritarianism, and the sweeping transformations brought by artificial intelligence. On top of these shared crises, you are also carrying personal burdens—quiet, invisible challenges that only you know.

As artists, you must process these experiences and create a personal and deep understanding—more personal and more deep than your own bones—of what the world needs.

This is the paradox of art: the more personal and true your vision, the more universal its resonance. Because you give form to human experience—its joy, grief, rage, and wonder—the world needs you for healing, for reckoning, for imagining otherwise. You help us remember what it means to be human, and what might still be possible.
